  • Another new twist to the qualifying format: Starting at Kentucky Speedway, there will be a rain-out qualifying procedure change for all three NASCAR national series. If first practice is run, but qualifying is unable to take place, the starting lineup will be based on speeds from the car's fastest lap from the first practice, with top-35 cars in owner points no longer segregated from the non-top 35 cars. Previously, the top 35 cars lined up in front of all other eligible car owners.(NASCAR)(7-7-2011)

Some Chassis Selections by Teams for this race

  • Chassis selections for New Hampshire: see the list of many teams and what chassis were selected by the team to run at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Sprint Cup Series Race:
#1-Jamie McMurray: will bring chassis #1007 to New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend. This chassis qualified on the pole and finished seventh at Martinsville in April. This car also ran last season in both races at Martinsville and Richmond, and was the backup car for the first race in Loudon.
#2-Brad Keselowski: The #2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger team will race chassis PRS-751 during Sunday's Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Keselowski drove this chassis to a third-place finish at Darlington Raceway in May.
#5-Mark Martin: Crew chief Lance McGrew has chosen Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 5-663 for Sunday's race at New Hampshire. This is the same car that Martin drove to a 14th-place finish at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in April.
#6-David Ragan: Primary: RK-755 Last ran Richmond - finished fourth; Backup: RK-747 Last ran Martinsville - finished eighth
#9-Marcos Ambrose: The #9 RPM team has prepared chassis No. 728 for the 318-mile event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This DEWALT Ford Fusion was run previously this season at Phoenix and Richmond.
#14-Tony Stewart: Chassis No. 14-637: This car made its debut in April at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, where it experienced some teething problems, qualifying 28th and finishing 34th with a broken rear-end gear. Prior to Martinsville, Chassis No. 14-637 was tested March 14 at the half-mile Little Rock Speedway in Rockingham, N.C. The Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon will mark the car's second career start.
#17-Matt Kenseth: Primary: RK-766 (last raced at All-Star Race)
#20-Joey Logano: is taking chassis #314 this weekend to compete at NHMS. This is a new chassis for the team. The back-up chassis is #303 that Logano tested at Kentucky last Thursday and most recently ran at Michigan International Speedway a few weeks ago.
#22-Kurt Busch: and his Steve Addington-led "Double-Deuce" team will be racing their "PRS-756" Penske Racing Dodge Charger at New Hampshire this weekend. "This is a brand new Dodge Charger that we'll be racing at Loudon," explained crew chief Addington.
    #24-Jeff Gordon: unidentified new chassis
#27-Paul Menard: will pilot Chassis No. 341 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. This No. 27 Chevy is a brand new addition to the RCR fleet for the 2011 season and will make its first paces this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
#29-Kevin Harvick: will race chassis No. 332 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. Harvick has raced this car three times this season, earning one win (Martinsville, 4/3), a fourth-place run at Phoenix (2/27) and a 12th-place finish at Richmond (4/30).
#31-Jeff Burton: will pilot Chassis No. 323 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. Built new for 2010, this RCR Chevrolet was put through its first paces at Kansas Speedway last October where the South Boston, Va., native was credited with an 18th-place finish after starting 23rd. Burton then raced this No. 31 racer at Phoenix earlier this season and was credited with a 26th-place effort after being involved in a multi-car incident just 60 laps into the 312-lap showdown. Most recently, this RCR entry ran competitively at Richmond where Burton drove it to a 16th-place result.
#33-Clint Bowyer: will pilot chassis No. 365 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. This is a brand new #33 Chevy that will turn its first laps during opening practice on Friday at "The Magic Mile."
#36-Dave Blaney: Chassis No. 78 - Blaney most recently piloted chassis No. 78 at Michigan International Speedway in June. His best finish while piloting the chassis was TBR's career best finish of 13th at Richmond International Speedway in April 2010.
#42-Juan Pablo Montoya: Chassis #1110 will make its second appearance of the 2011 season this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The Target team also ran this chassis at Martinsville earlier this year, where it came home with a fourth-place finish.
