MRN and AudioNow partner up: In a first for motor sports fans around the country, Motor Racing Network and AudioNow have jointly announced a new way to access live race broadcasts simply by dialing a number from any mobile device. Across the United States, race fans can dial 1-832-999-1717 and listen to MRN race-day broadcasts, interviews and analysis, and weekly programming such as "NASCAR Live" and "NASCAR USA." Upcoming broadcast includes the Budweiser Duel and the season-opening Daytona 500 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Sunday, Feb. 24. The phone number incurs no extra charges and is the equivalent of making a mobile call. Daytona Facts and Notes - Tuesday:
· Groundbreaking for Daytona International Speedway was Nov. 25, 1957. The soil underneath the banked corners was dug from the infield of the track and the hole filled with water. It is now known as Lake Lloyd.
· The first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona was a 100-mile qualifying race for the Daytona 500 on Feb. 20, 1959  won by Bob Welborn.
· The first summer race at Daytona International Speedway was held on July 4, 1959  won by Fireball Roberts (140.581 mph).
· NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty won his 200th career race on July 4, 1984 at Daytona.
· Lights were installed in the spring of 1998. However, the July race was delayed until October that year due to thick smoke from wildfires. The second Daytona race has been held under the lights ever since.
· The track underwent a repave in 2010.
· There have been 132 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Daytona International Speedway since the track hosted its first race in 1959: 55 have been 500 miles, 50 were 400 miles and four 250 miles. There were also 23 qualifier races that were point races.
· 436 drivers have competed in at least one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series' July race at Daytona International Speedway; 273 in more than one.

Johnson wins Daytona: #48-Jimmie Johnson won the Coke Zero 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway for his 4th win of 2013 and 64th career win.
#48-Johnson led the most laps with 94 of 161 laps. Pole sitter #18-Busch got in a late wreck and finished 12th, leading 30 laps
#14-Stewart finished 2nd followed by #29-Harvick, #15-Bowyer, #55-Waltrip, #78-Busch, #1-McMurray, #88-Earnhardt Jr., #13-Mears and #39-Newman.
There were 18 lead changes among 11 drivers and 6 cautions for 27 yellow flag laps and an 8.53 red flag to clean up the track after a wreck late in the race.
The average speed was 154.313. NASCAR no longer announces the track attendance.

Double Yellow Line at Daytona = do not pass: In order to emphasize the yellow-line rule at Daytona International Speedway where passes are not permitted, NASCAR has made the single yellow line into a double-yellow line. NASCAR Green-White-Checkered Race Procedure: NASCAR allows a maximum of three restart attempts prior to the White Flag under NASCAR's Green-White-Checkered flag finish. If the leader has taken the White Flag and the caution flag is displayed, the field is frozen and the race will not be restarted. Previously, there was only one restart attempt. How to Calculate Track Speeds: use the formula Speed = Distance divided by Time. Distance is Track Length, and Lap Time into Hours. Once hour is 3600 seconds, so the calculation for a 48 second lap at Daytona(2.5 miles) would be: Speed = 2.5 x (3600/48), = 2.5 x 75 = 187.500mph. For a 19 second lap at Bristol(.533 miles): Speed = .533 x (3600/19), = .533 x 189.474 = a speed of 100.990mph

Notes: Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will run the same tire set-up at Daytona this week . . . this is the first time these teams will be running either of these two tire codes . . . this tire combination came out of a Goodyear tire test at Daytona on April 16-17 . . . teams and drivers participating in that test were the No. 1 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing Chevrolet with Jamie McMurray, No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet with Kasey Kahne, No. 10 Stewart Haas Racing Chevrolet with Danica Patrick, No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford with Greg Biffle, No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford with Ricky Stenhouse Jr., No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota with Michael McDowell, No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford with Trevor Bayne, No. 33 Circle Sport Chevrolet with Austin Dillon and No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing Ford with Carl Edwards . . . compared to what was run at Daytona in February, this tire set-up features a compound change on both sides of the car and a construction change to the left-side to bring it into line with what has been run at other tracks . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Daytona . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
