MRN and AudioNow partner up: In a first for motor sports fans around the country, Motor Racing Network and AudioNow have jointly announced a new way to access live race broadcasts simply by dialing a number from any mobile device. Across the United States, race fans can dial 1-832-999-1717 and listen to MRN race-day broadcasts, interviews and analysis, and weekly programming such as "NASCAR Live" and "NASCAR USA." Upcoming broadcast includes the Budweiser Duel and the season-opening Daytona 500 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Sunday, Feb. 24. The phone number incurs no extra charges and is the equivalent of making a mobile call. Kenseth wins Chicago: #20-Matt Kesenth won the GEICO 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway for his 6th win of 2013 and 30th career win.
#18-Busch finished 2nd followed by #29-Harvick, #78-Busch, #48-Johnson, #24-Gordon, #2-Keselowski, #17-Stenhouse, Jr., #15-Bowyer, and #39-Newman.
The start of the race was delayed about 90 minutes because of rain. Rain then started again on lap 109, causing a red flag of 5 hours 10 minutes before the race resumed.
Pole sitter #22-Logano lost an engine cylinder just past halfway. He fell out of the race shortly after and finished 37th.
Chase driver #88-Earnhardt, Jr. also lost an engine and finished 35th.
There were 25 lead changes among 16 drivers and 9 cautions for 46 yellow flag laps.
The average speed was 125.855mph. NASCAR no longer announces the track attendance.

Rain has race under red flag: After starting 90 minutes late, the GEICO 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway was red flagged at 4:45pm/et on lap 109. The halfway point is lap 134. Jet dryers got on track at just before 7:00pm/et, after the rain slowed, but with cooler temps and damp conditions, drying is going slowly.
NASCAR is looking to restart the race around 10:00pm/et.
ESPN2 will have TV coverage when the race goes back to green.

Rain will be an issue Sunday: The National Weather Service forecast for Sunday at Chicagland Speedway does not look good. It now calls for showers, mainly after 10am/ct with a high near 68. The overall chance of precipitation is 100%. Chances drop to 80% tonight. The hourly forecast calls for a steady chance of rain through the afternoon and evening. AND: Due to the forecast, NASCAR has move up the command to start engines to 2:01pm/ct and the green flag is now scheduled for 2:10pm/et.(9-15-2013)
UPDATE: Rain fell at the track from about 12:30-2:00pm/et. Jet dryers then worked to dry the track. Pre-race ceremonies were completed about 3:20pm/et. Engines were fired at 3:29pm/et and the race went green at 3:40pm/et. There will be a competition caution on lap 30. There's another band of rain about 2 hours west of the track.(9-15-2013)

How to Calculate Track Speeds: use the formula Speed = Distance divided by Time. Distance is Track Length, and Lap Time into Hours. Once hour is 3600 seconds, so the calculation for a 48 second lap at Daytona(2.5 miles) would be: Speed = 2.5 x (3600/48), = 2.5 x 75 = 187.500mph. For a 19 second lap at Bristol(.533 miles): Speed = .533 x (3600/19), = .533 x 189.474 = a speed of 100.990mph

#5-Kasey Kahne: Crew chief Kenny Francis will unload Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 5-809 for Sunday's event at Chicagoland. Kahne drove this car to a third-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July. Most recently, he finished seventh while driving this car at Michigan International Speedway in August.
#9-Marcos Ambrose: The No. 9 team will bring new chassis No. 842 this weekend to Chicago. The team last ran this chassis at Pocono Raceway where they started in eighth and finished in the 12th spot.
#10-Danica Patrick: Chassis No. 10-805: Chassis No. 10-805 was used for the first time in July at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where Patrick started 33rd and finished 30th.
#14-Mark Martin: Chassis No. 14-707: This car made its first start in May 2012 in the non-points NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. It was an unassuming debut, as Chassis No. 14-707 started ninth and finished a quiet 17th. The car sat idle until late August where it was used for the Labor Day weekend event at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It started strong by qualifying on the pole and took the lead from Greg Biffle on lap two and continued to pace the 43-car field for eight laps. But as the race wore on, Chassis No. 14-707 struggled with its handling, leaving it one lap down in 22nd when the race ended. With 2013 Chevrolet SS bodywork covering it, Chassis No. 14-707 was tested March 7 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and April 11 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. The Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway marked the car's first start of 2013, and it was a solid one, with Chassis No. 14-707 qualifying fifth and finishing fourth. The car returns to action this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., where on Sunday it will make its third points-paying start and its fourth overall.

#39-Ryan Newman: Chassis No. 39-733: A workhorse of the No. 39 fleet, Chassis No. 39-733 debuted at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July 2012, when Newman recorded a seventh-place finish. The crew turned the car around in just a couple of days and took it to Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, where it finished sixth. Two weeks later, the chassis was back on track at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, where it finished eighth. The chassis earned its first top-five finish at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. The chassis next raced three weeks later at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. The chassis made its last start of 2012 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City in October, when Newman was involved in an incident that forced him to retire from the event prematurely. Chassis No. 39-733 was outfitted with a new front clip and a Chevrolet SS body over the offseason, and saw its first laps of 2013 at Kansas in April, when Newman finished 14th. He then raced this Chevrolet SS to a 10th-place finish at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in May. Newman again raced Chassis 39-733 at Pocono in June, where he recorded a fifth-place finish. Newman was in contention to score another top-10 finish with Chassis 39-733 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta in June, but a late-race restart saw him shuffled to 14th when the checkered flag waved. Then, Newman qualified the car on the pole and led 45 laps en-route to earning his first win of the 2013 season in July's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis. A week later, Newman overcame a series of slow stops on pit road at Pocono to record a fourth-place finish. Most recently, Newman fought through an ill-handling condition to finish 13th at Michigan.
