Keselowski blew right through the 1,000-laps-led mark on Saturday night at Richmond, where he was out front for 383 laps, a record for a 400-lap race at the .75-mile short track.
1: Of the 16 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, the number who have been running at the finish of every race this season. That distinction belongs to Jeff Gordon, and it's no coincidence that Gordon was the regular-season points leader in the Cup series.

He took the lead with 16 laps to go when he passed #4-Harvick and #42-Larson who had been battling the lead. His win automatically moves him into the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
#24-Gordon finished 2nd followed by #42-Larson, #22-Logano, #4-Harvick, #11-Hamlin, polesitter #18-Busch, #41-Busch, #1-McMurray, and #20 Kenseth.

How to Calculate Track Speeds: use the formula Speed = Distance divided by Time. Distance is Track Length, and Lap Time into Hours. Once hour is 3600 seconds, so the calculation for a 48 second lap at Daytona(2.5 miles) would be: Speed = 2.5 x (3600/48), = 2.5 x 75 = 187.500mph. For a 19 second lap at Bristol(.533 miles): Speed = .533 x (3600/19), = .533 x 189.474 = a speed of 100.990mph

Notes: While teams in all three NASCAR series in action at Chicagoland this week will run the same left-side tire code, Sprint Cup teams will run their own right-side tire code . . . Sprint Cup teams have run this left-side code (D-4392) at Chicagoland since 2011 . . . they have also run this left-side at Texas and Darlington earlier this season . . . this is the first time they have run this right-side code (D-4618) at Chicagoland, though they did run it earlier this season at Texas . . . this right-side tire employs Goodyear's multi-zone tread technology, which combines two distinct tread compounds on the same tire -- one on the inboard two inches of the tread for endurance and heat resistance, and one on the outboard 10 inches of the tread for traction . . . this tire combination was confirmed at a Goodyear test at Chicagoland on June 10 . . . teams and drivers participating in that test were No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota with Denny Hamlin, No. 22 Penske Racing Ford with Joey Logano, No. 27 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet with Paul Menard and No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet with Jimmie Johnson . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Chicagoland . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
