Last race in the #47 for Labonte, special scheme: Bobby Labonte's journey behind the wheel of the #47 Toyota with JTG Daugherty Racing comes to a close at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). The 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion has one pole award, three top-five and nine top-10 finishes and has led 68 laps in 29 starts at PIR. His average start is 23.034 and his average finish is 18.448. The #47 Toyota will carry a special Clorox / Wounded Warrior Project scheme at Phoneix. I think Wounded Warrior Project is a great organization and we are grateful to have them on our Toyota and help raise more awareness, Labonte said. The last two years the team went out on their own, Labonte said. It was without support from being a part of a big organization and that has been tough. New look for the #24 Chevy, starting at Pocono: The last time Jeff Gordon visited Pocono Raceway, the #24 Chevy had a great finish. This time he will have the same great finish - just with a different name. In August, Gordon started 27th and worked his way up to sixth before a lap-90 restart. One corner later, he was leading. Contact between the leaders sent the top four either into a spin or out of the groove. Gordon drove the bottom lane to the lead - and to the win since the race never restarted due to rain. The finish on the car that weekend was DuPont Performance Coatings. That business was sold in the first quarter of this year and was re-branded Axalta Coating Systems. Bowyer was born and raised about 100 miles from Kansas Speedway in Emporia, Kan. Cheerios back on the #31 at MIS: The iconic General Mills brand Cheerios returns as the primary sponsor on Jeff Burton's #31 Chevy. America's No.1 cereal franchise will also bring its fan-favorite yellow and black paint scheme to New Hampshire Motor Speedway (September 22). General Mills has roots as a NASCAR sponsor for more than 15 years and began its partnership with RCR in 2008 with the Cheerios brand as the primary sponsor of the #33 Sprint Cup Series team. Stremme gets two race sponsor: Genny Light recently became a primary sponsor for Swan Racing's #30 Toyota driven by David Stremme. Genny Light will sponsor the team for two races, the first of which is this weekend at Watkins Glen International. The second Genny Light sponsored race will take place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September. "Genny Light is a fan favorite in upstate New York. Special look for Yeley at Daytona: Returning to Daytona International Speedway, JJ Yeley is looking to exceed his 10th place finish from Februarys Daytona 500. Golden Corral returns to pilot the #36 Chevy for the third time this season. Celebrating the 4th of July weekend, the #36 Chevy has a new look for the weekend  a patriotic red, white and blue design by former Marine Scott Bates. Scott Bates, a former Marine, helped to design the patriotic paint scheme that Yeley will be driving in Saturday Nights Coke Zero 400. Bates, a native of Oklahoma, was stricken with Multiple Sclerosis and is now confined to a wheel chair, with no use of his arms or legs. As a lifelong NASCAR fan, his passion has become to design race cars with his special graphic design device, that he attaches to the brim of his hat. New sponsor for Wise at Richmond: #35-Josh Wise will take a new primary partner to Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night, introducing NASCAR fans to The Pete Store, LLC. The Pete Store is a Peterbilt dealer group with nine full-service locations from Delaware to Georgia, and is the provider of Front Row Motorsports' race haulers. The company has been an associate sponsor with Front Row for previous races, but Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 400 will be The Pete Store's first primary sponsorship with the team. Sam Bass Presents New Standox Paint Scheme for Jeff Gordon: For the past 21 years, Sam Bass' artwork has been brought to life onboard the #24 Chevrolet with Jeff Gordon driving to championships as well as numerous victories together. Beginning in 1992, Bass worked with Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports to unveil the "Rainbow Warrior" paint scheme that became synonymous with the team. Since that time, Bass has designed over 50 paint schemes for Gordon. This weekend at Michigan International Speedway, Gordon will take to the track in another Sam Bass original design, the #24 Standox paint scheme. "The Standox special paint scheme was a chance for me to really try something new, it marked the first time that I had ever been able to use so much white on a car for Jeff," said Bass. "NASCAR: An American Salute" Pays Tribute to U.S. Military: NASCAR announced the launch of the second-annual "NASCAR: An American Salute" initiative, an industry-wide effort to honor and celebrate the service of members of the United States Armed Forces, veterans and their families. Beginning with the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and culminating with the Independence Day Weekend's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway, this year's campaign aspires to reach one million "salutes" to U.S. military members during the next six weeks. In addition to being able to track the progress against one million salutes, NASCAR fans, partners, drivers, teams and tracks can salute the military by sending messages of gratitude at www.NASCAR.com/Salutes and by using #NASCARSalutes on Instagram and Twitter. "The tradition of honoring our military is part of the fiber of our sport," said Mike Helton, NASCAR president. "Everyone at NASCAR is proud of the NASCAR: An American Salute initiative. It enables us to collectively express our gratitude to the millions of American members of the armed forces, both currently serving and those who have served, for the sacrifices they make in defending our nation."
Some of the activities planned throughout the six weeks of "NASCAR: An American Salute" include:
· The NASCAR Foundation will partner with USO to support the "With You All the Way" program, a partnership between the USO, Comfort Crew for Military Kids, and the Trevor Romain Company. "With You All the Way" promotes self-confidence and resiliency among military children as they tackle difficult issues which are unique to growing up in a military family.
· NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race teams will showcase their support by displaying patriotic-themed elements and paint schemes on their race vehicles (see images of the Sprint Cup cars on my Paint Scheme Gallery).
· Race tracks hosting national series events during the "NASCAR: An American Salute" window  Charlotte Motor Speedway, Dover International Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Michigan International Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, Kentucky Speedway and Daytona International Speedway  will participate through a variety of military-themed activations. Tracks will feature active and retired service men and women in pre-race show festivities, patriotic grass and wall stencils, donations, special activities for soldiers and their families, among an assortment of other military-themed programming.
· A number of NASCAR Official Partners will support "NASCAR: An American Salute" through patriotic and military-themed activations. Goodyear will announce its annual "Goodyear Gives Back" program and replace the "Eagle" and "Wrangler" sidewall design with desert camouflage lettering that reads "Support Our Troops" on all NASCAR race tires during Memorial Day Weekend. Additional participating partners include: 3M, Axalta Coating Systems, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, Coors Light, Ford Motor Company, Mechanix Wear, Nationwide Insurance, New Holland, Sprint, Toyota, Sunoco and UPS will also participate.
· During the "NASCAR: An American Salute" initiative, NASCAR and the Armed Forces Foundation will expand their season-long partnership on the NASCAR Troops to the Track program to host military families at each NSCS race throughout the six-week period. The service members and their families will be treated to a customized program at track that honors their service in the military.
· NASCAR and the Honor and Remember organization will host several Gold Star families at various tracks including Charlotte Motor Speedway and Kentucky Speedway who have lost loved ones in their U.S. military service.

The transportation company will be the primary sponsor of Ragan's #34 Ford for this weekend's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis (Ind.) Motor Speedway, one of the premier events and venues in auto racing. CSX's initial one-race primary sponsorship (Richmond in April) expanded to include the All-Star race and the Indianapolis event after Ragan won Front Row Motorsports' first race in team history at Talladega in May. Johnson goes Patriotic at CMS: Jimmie Johnson will drive the #48 Lowes Patriotic Chevrolet SS in the Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The car will be painted red, white and blue and ringed in stars. Lowes and its #48 team have a long history of supporting the military and honoring the nation over the years. In 2001, Johnsons first Sprint Cup race came at Charlotte in the Lowes Chevrolet, which was specially painted to honor the country. #78 to pay tribute to Armed Forces Day at Sprint All-Star Race: With Armed Forces Day being celebrated on Saturday (May 18), Kurt Busch's #78 Furniture Row/Sealy Chevrolet will observe the annual holiday with a special paint scheme for Saturday night's Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Armed Forces Day, which was created in 1949 and celebrated annually on the third Saturday in May, was an initiative led by President Harry S. Truman to establish a single holiday for citizens to pay tribute to the men and women who served in the United States' armed forces. The paint scheme for Busch's car for the Sprint All-Star Race will include a ribbon on both the hood and rear quarter panels announcing Armed Forces Day. The inscription: "Thank You For Your Service" will also be positioned below the ribbon on the quarter panels. Over the past year, Busch has worked with the Armed Forces Foundation by living up to its motto: "Serving those who Serve" and partnering in various events, such as the military inspired mud run "Busch Whacked" at Texas Motor Speedway. McMurray to run Bass Pros Shops scheme in Showdown:
Bass Pro Shops will salute the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) this weekend at the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race [Sprint Showdown] with a special NWTF paint scheme on the #1 Chevy SS of Jamie McMurray. Through vital partnerships with state, federal and provincial wildlife agencies, the NWTF and its members have helped restore wild turkey populations throughout North America, spending more than $412 million to conserve nearly 17.2 million acres of habitat. The NWTF is a national nonprofit organization that is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. Curb Records Featuring the Bobby Bones Show to Sponsor McDowell at Talladega: Joining Michael McDowell at Talladega Superspeedway will be Curb Records featuring the Bobby Bones Show, which will serve as primary sponsor on his #98 Phil Parsons Racing Ford Fusion. The Bobby Bones Show is a multiple award winning country music radio show based in Austin, Texas, on 96.7 KISS FM that is syndicated across the United States. The show is broadcast live weekday mornings from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. CT. "I can't wait to go racing at Talladega," McDowell said. "Our team had such a good run at Daytona and that has us really excited about this week. We know that we're capable of having a great run. We just have to put all of the pieces together. Fortunately one of the biggest pieces is already in place. We got Curb Records Featuring the Bobby Bones Show as a partner for the race. We're thrilled to have them on our car and will do our best to give them a good ride." McDowell will be at the helm of the same car he piloted to a top-10 finish at Daytona. Waltrip returns to the #55 at 'Dega: #55 Aarons Dream Machine driver Michael Waltrip returns to the drivers seat at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday in the Aarons 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup race. The two-time Daytona 500 champions #55 will carry a special paint scheme honoring the 2012 University of Alabamas BCS National Championship football team. Waltrip will sport an Alabama firesuit and a specially painted helmet similar to the schools football helmet. Waltrip, winner of the Talladega fall race in 2003, nearly won the October race before a last lap wreck. Waltrip celebrated his 50th birthday on Tuesday. Aarons unveiled the #55 paint scheme in front of 78,000 fans at University of Alabama's spring football game on April 20. Coach Nick Saban signed the hood. This is the fourth consecutive Talladega spring race Aarons Inc. and MWR have honored a national championship football team from the state of Alabama. Farmers Insurance celebrates 85th Anniversary: In celebration of Farmers' 85th anniversary, #5-Kasey Kahne will race in a special Farmers Insurance 85th Anniversary paint scheme during the April 21 NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Kansas Speedway  a car that will bring to life the memory of Farmers first insured vehicle, a 1925 Cadillac Phaeton, insured in 1928.(HMS)(4-18-2013)

STP colors returns to #43; The King to be grand marshal: Aric Almirola and the #43 STP Ford team will be sporting classic Petty Blue and STP colors in the STP 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway. Team owner Richard Petty, a long-time partner of STP, will be the Grand Marshall for the STP 400. He will give his drivers Almirola and Marcos Ambrose, as well as the rest of the Sprint Cup Series field, the command to start their engines on Sunday. Farmland Foods will present a cash and protein donation to Harvesters-The Community Food Network at the Kansas Speedway as part of an expanding effort by the company to raise awareness of hunger issues around the country. Rush Truck Centers to sponsor Stewart in three races: Rush Enterprises, which operates the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in North America, will be the primary sponsor of Tony Stewart and the #14 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team of Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) for three Sprint Cup races with its Rush Truck Centers brand. Rush Truck Centers will adorn the hood of the #14 Chevy March 24 at Auto Club Speedway, April 7 at Martinsville and April 27 at Richmond. When not serving as the primary sponsor, Rush Truck Centers will be an associate sponsor on the #14 Chevy with placement on the B-pillar and lower-rear quarterpanel.

It will be the first of seven races that Beautyrest will have associate sponsorship on the #78. Busch has tackled the Phoenix mile 20 times in his Sprint Cup career. Cassill joins #33 Circle Sport team: Circle Sport, LLC, announced that Landon Cassill will drive the #33 Circle Sport entry beginning this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. Cassill, the 23-year-old former development driver for Hendrick Motorsports, will pilot the #33 Moon Shine Wildfire Camo Chevrolet SS in Sunday?s Subway Fresh Fit 500 [also the same scheme at Las Vegas]. Cassill enters the weekend event with 84 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts to his credit, in addition to 33 NASCAR Nationwide Series and eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts. Cassill, who competed in all 36 Sprint Cup Series races last year for BK Racing, will mark his 2013 Sprint Cup Series debut in a specially outfitted camouflage Chevrolet SS designed by Moon Shine Attitude Attire. Special scheme for Johnson in the Sprint Unlimited: For the 2013 season, #48-Jimmie Johnsons 12th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the five-time champion once again climbs behind the wheel of the #48 Lowes and Kobalt Tools Chevrolets. The primary paint scheme for the year mimics last years sleek, two-color schemes, which marked the first major redesign of the primary paint scheme for the #48 car since Lowes began its relationship with Johnson. The schemes are a tribute to the American muscle car, including several that will feature some of Chevrolets classic colors at select races throughout the year. The first of these combinations debuts at the opening race of the season, the Sprint Unlimited. Appropriately, the #48 Lowes machine features the classis Chevrolet color Daytona Yellow. Johnson to run special scheme in Shootout: #48-Jimmie Johnson is scheduled to run a throwback Daytona Yellow paint scheme in the Shootout at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 16.
