PAST 2013 PAINT SCHEMES NEWS

  • RFR Driven scheme for Stenhouse at Phoenix: Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. heads to Phoenix International Raceway in 17 #RFRDriven Ford. You could win the hood signed by the RFR crew. After 25 Winning Years, a record 300 wins and numerous championships, Roush Fenway Racing remains Driven to succeed. To drive the point, RFR launched its 2013 Driven campaign at the 2013 NASCAR Media Day. The Driven program will include new and increased fan interaction, as well as partner promotions and special events throughout the season (RFR), see an image of the car/scheme on the #17 Team Schemes page.(11-7-2013)

  • Biffle's car goes green at Phoenix: Greg Biffle will drive the #16 3M Scotch Ford Fusion at Phoenix International Raceway. Scotch Cellulose Tape was invented in 1930 by Richard Drew, a 3M scientist. Later renamed Cellophane Tape, the tape was originally designed to be an attractive, moisture-proof way for grocers and bakers to seal cellophane wrap. Roughly 5.5 million miles' worth of Scotch® Transparent Tape is made each year. That's 645 miles of tape per hour, or enough to circle the earth 235 times! (RFR), see images of the car/scheme on the #16 Team Schemes page.(11-7-2013)

  • Rheem featured on the #27: The #27 Rheem/Menards Chevy of Paul Menard will sport a different look this weekend at Phoenix carrying a special paint scheme combination of Rheem red and black, in addition to Menards yellow. Rheem Manufacturing Company is privately held with headquarters in Atlanta and U.S. operations in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Indiana, North Carolina and Texas. Rheem is the official heating, cooling and water heating supplier to Richard Childress Racing, and is a primary sponsor of RCR's #29 Chevy in the Sprint Cup Series and RCR's #33 Chevy in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (RCR), see images of the car/scheme on the #27 Team Schemes page.(11-7-2013)

  • Lexar partners with EGR on the #1 at PIR: Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) and Lexar announced an extension of their continued partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing Teams (CGRT), to be the primary sponsor on the #1 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Chevrolet SS of former Daytona 500 Champion Jamie McMurray. Lexar, a long-time partner of CGRT, began its relationship with the team back in 2001 when it became an associate sponsor. The #1 Lexar Chevy will make an appearance at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) for the AdvoCare 500 on Sunday. Lexar boasts one of the most comprehensive portfolios of high-performance, award-winning products in every major flash memory category, including memory cards, card readers, and USB flash drives. Lexar products are backed by outstanding customer support, industry-leading warranties, and an ever-expanding selection of products that are designed to meet the growing needs of quality-oriented customers. With more than 15 years of experience in the memory industry, the Lexar brand has long been synonymous with reliability and high performance. Jeff Cable, Director of Marketing, Lexar: Were excited to extend our sponsorship with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and watch Jamie McMurray lead the pack in the No. 1 Lexar Chevrolet SS. When it comes to great performance, high speeds, and reliability, Jamies got all three, and these are the same attributes the Lexar brand supports, which is why were excited to team up with him and EGR this coming week.(EGR), see an image of the car/scheme on the #1 Team Schemes page.(11-6-2013)

  • Ultra Wheel Joins Tommy Baldwin Racing's #7 at PIR: As Tommy Baldwin Racing prepares to roll into Phoenix International Raceway this week, they are doing so with some extra grip. Ultra Wheel joins TBR as a primary sponsor of Dave Blaney's #7 Chevy. Based out of Fullertown, CA, Ultra Wheel is a custom wheel shop that doesn't base themselves off of a slogan or icon to create their identity like others. Ultra Wheel has an unyielding core principle of building strong durable wheels with precise fitments. Jim Smith, owner of Ultra Wheel, has an aggressive passion for auto racing that led him to win countless individual races within the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the Baja 1000. That passion and core principle catapulted the company to become the preeminent truck wheel company in the US, and it continues today. Whether you're looking at their Truck and Off-Road wheels, high end Platinum line-up, or their trend setting Focal designs, they only sell Championship-Caliber Quality wheels. When you own a set of Ultra wheels, you too will be riding on their core principle of delivering the strongest, most durable wheels on the market today. Owner and previous Craftsman Truck Series winner Jim Smith commented on the sponsorship, "Ultra Wheel is proud to be on board the #7 Chevy of Dave Blaney and Tommy Baldwin Racing." Team Owner and Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin also commented, "We are happy to be teaming up with Ultra Wheel for the upcoming race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. Jim Smith is familiar with the motorsports industry and how things work, which helps to create a great partnership for both TBR and Ultra Wheel."(TBR), see an image of the car/scheme on the #7 Team Schemes page.(11-6-2013)

  • #42 Target Chevy in Camo: The #42 Target Chevy of Juan Pablo Montoya's will sport a special paint scheme this weekend for Veterans Day. The signature red paint scheme will go camo at Phoenix International Raceway to honor veterans (EGR), see an image of the scheme on the #42 Team Schemes page.(11-6-2013)

  • Last race in the #47 for Labonte, special scheme: Bobby Labonte's journey behind the wheel of the #47 Toyota with JTG Daugherty Racing comes to a close at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). The 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion has one pole award, three top-five and nine top-10 finishes and has led 68 laps in 29 starts at PIR. His average start is 23.034 and his average finish is 18.448. The #47 Toyota will carry a special Clorox / Wounded Warrior Project scheme at Phoneix. I think Wounded Warrior Project is a great organization and we are grateful to have them on our Toyota and help raise more awareness, Labonte said. It is a great program to help out young men and women that fight for our freedom in a battle where things happen and their lives are changed forever. It is good to have someone to help them through the tough times, said Labonte.
The last two years the team went out on their own, Labonte said. It was without support from being a part of a big organization and that has been tough. The choice they made to go out on their own I supported. They needed to go in that direction. The battle was still to get the team in position to go forward. We went through the trenches together to get there. At the end of the day, I was a part of the puzzle where I got to help put the pieces together where the puzzle did not fall apart. I always woke up everyday and put my best foot forward.
It has been a pleasure to have Bobby in our car the past few seasons, JTG Daugherty Racing co-owner Brad Daugherty said recently. He is a true champion and a Hall of Famer. He is a tremendous racecar driver and person. We have leaned on him heavily, as well as, TRD (Toyota Racing Development) in testing parts and pieces.
