Harlequins continued their impressive start to the Anglo-Welsh Cup competition with a bonus point win over Worcester in a frenetic game at Twickenham Stoop.
After last weekend's late 30-29 victory at Saracens, this was only slightly easier for the hosts, who were made to fight all the way by a lively Worcester side containing very few Aviva Premiership regulars.
Tim Visser, Mat Luamanu, Harry Sloan, James Chisholm, Dino Lamb, Alofa Alofa and James Lang scored tries for Quins in the 45-37 success, with Lang converting five of them.
Dean Hammond scored three tries for Worcester, Max Stelling, Darren Barry and Ben Howard one each with Sam Olver converting two and kicking a penalty.
Warriors took a third minute lead when a flowing move was finished off in style by Hammond, who side-stepped two defenders on his way to the line.
Quins soon responded with their first try when scrum-half Calum Waters quickly took a penalty to create a try for Visser but minutes later Waters had to leave the field with a shoulder injury.
Olver kicked a penalty to give the visitors a 10-5 lead at the first quarter before Lang was badly off-target with a long range attempt. However Quins soon drew level when the powerful Luamanu brushed aside some poor tackling to run 20 metres and score.
Almost immediately, Warriors were back in front when Howard skilfully collected a crossfield kick to provide the scoring pass for Stelling.
Lang missed another long range kick before Sloan scored Quins' third try when he drove past a weak tackle from Olver.
Worcester prop Simon Kerrod was yellow carded and their opponents took immediate advantage to score their bonus point try when Chisholm forced his way over from close range.
Lang converted for a 26-15 half-time lead. Kerrod returned with no further damage to the scoreboard and his side remained in contention when clever play from Howard sent Hammond in for his second try.
Lamb, a half-time replacement for Luamanu, scored a fifth for Quins by neatly picking up a loose ball, before the hosts lost a second scrum-half through injury when debutant Niall Saunders departed with a shoulder problem.
England squad member Marcus Smith, came on to fill the scrum-half berth before Lang scored the best individual try of the game, darting through a hole in the defence and racing 45 metres to score.
Spirited Worcester deservedly collected their bonus point when the impressive Howard crossed before Alofa and Barry exchanged tries as the points continued to rack up. With 12 minutes remaining, Quins hooker Charlie Piper was sin-binned and Hammond's third try set up a grandstand finish - but the hosts just held on.
