The Game Within The Game

Every big time sporting event is a complex competition. Everybody involved is doing what they can to help their team win the game, whether they're a player or a coach. Athletes play a single position, doing their job in an effort to help their team win the game.

It can be very exciting to watch the individual competitions that take place within the game. These one-on-one matchups can sometimes decide the outcome of the game, or just provide a look at two great athletes playing their hardest.

Over the next few days, sports fans will be treated to a couple of great matchups between standout players.

Brady vs. Manning: This weekend, two of the best quarterbacks in football will square off on the same field. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will visit Payton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in a classic matchup between two of the top teams in the game. Although the two will never be on the field at the same time, they will be competing against each other. There's a good chance that whoever has a better game will lead his team to victory. Both quarterbacks are fun to watch, and fans will be treated to a very entertaining tussle on Sunday.

Roy vs. Paul: Another very interesting showdown will happen this weekend between two of the top guards in the NBA. Brandon Roy and the Portland Trailblazers will host Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets. Roy leads his team with 20 points and five assists per game, while Paul is averaging 26 points and nine assists per game. Since both these players are guards, they will likely spend some of the game defending each other. Roy and Paul both know that it will be a challenge to play well against each other and will have to step up their games. Fans can expect entertaining performances from both of these athletes. Once again, which ever player has a better game will most likely lead his team to victory.

What makes pro sports so exciting is that the athletes know they are competing against the best. Every game, they have to give it their all. There are certain games, though, when the best athletes are in direct competition. This is when truly great players distinguish themselves. They rise to the occasion and meet the challenge.
